Cause Mamas can Run too

Remember that time I told you I was going to hold myself accountable to you and tell you what I was eating and how I was working out. Remember that?

Well I did that for like 3 days and then that got old real quick.

So I still weight 146 pounds which is roughly 15-18 pounds off what I consider my healthy weight. Yep, almost 9 months later, I'm still that far off.

But I am determined. I don't feel good about my body and I don't feel healthy, and I'm pretty much still eating whatever I want and not working out regularly. Hmmmmmm.......I see a problem.

It's not hard. I know how to do it. I just have commitment issues.

I really just have to get back into the habit of running. Once I get back into it, I will quickly fall in love again and then I will crave running like I crave hershey kisses. (Not quite, but almost).

I really do get into a groove where running becomes part of me, where I feel like I need it. It's an escape, a re-charge. I just have to get back there. Because I'm not in good shape, running is freaking hard right now! But I know what it's like to enjoy it, and I'm determined to return to that place asap.

How many times have I said determined? I need an editor....

Anyways.

I signed up for a race thanks to my friend Angi Martin. Love you. Needed that challenge. I'll buy you a margarita when I get skinny again : )

But you should do it too! If you live in the OKC area anyways.

It's a 5k. It's called the Hot Mamas Run. And they told me that if your definition of "hot" is sweaty, then you're welcome too. (whew!)

Here are all the details. And there are no boys allowed! (I don't know how they pulled that off with all that hipaa crap, but hooray!) No boys allowed! So, do it with me. 5k runs are the best!

Even if you've never run a 5k, you can do it! Go to the app store right now, and download Couch to 5k. There are a bunch of apps. Any of them will do. And commit to "running" 3 days a week for 30 minutes at a time. (I promise you hardly run at first).

You can do it! I can be your moral support. Seriously I mean it.

You'll probably hate it at first. And eventually you'll run for 10 minutes straight and you'll think you've conquered the world. And then when you have to run for 20 minutes straight, you'll hate life again, but I promise it gets better! And then by the end of it all, you're stronger, and hotter, and a little bit slimmer.

Go ahead, try it.

Come run with me.

  3. Is the couch 2 5k really that easy? Running a 5k with my hubby is on my bucket list because he loves to run and I want to do that with him. The app is the best way to get started?
