A Full House

Friday, July 26, 2013

I think I have mentioned that we rented a house for our family vacation in Breckenridge. And tonight, our house is completely full.

My in-laws and my brother-in-law are here. Our dear friends Tamara and Chad and their son Troyce who recently moved from Oklahoma to Colorado, and my dad is here. It's officially a full house.

We are staying a a 4 bedroom house, but it was going to be very, very full if we all stayed in it tonight, so my dad is staying with his mountain biking buddy and Brian got a hotel room for his mom and dad to stay in to celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary.

At the moment, I'm sitting at the desk in the kitchen, watching Iron Man while enjoying a glass of red wine and a coffee cup full of cookies and cream ice cream.....because it's vacation.

We've had a glorious and uneventful day. We had another lazy morning. We explored downtown Breckenridge a little and we met up with Tamara and Troyce, and my heart was so happy. I took a total of like 3 pictures today, but it was a great and relaxing day.

Tamara and I had a chance to catch up while the kids played today. She brought me a book that isn't even for sale yet! It's Stasi Eldredge's book titled Becoming Myself, embracing God's dream of you.

John and Stasi Eldredge wrote the books Captivating and Wild at Heart. Both of which I highly recommend. So I am thrilled to start this one! I have a highlighter ready and plan on sinking into the couch as soon as I hit publish on this post.

Despite our full house, this trip is recharging and relaxing and exactly what I hoped it would be.

Tonight I'm thankful to be surrounded by so many people I love in the middle of the mountains.
