We have some winners! Thanks to Boo Mama's blog, I used ramdom number generator to pick the winners of our Much Ado About You giveaway.

Congratulations to Diana Dawkins, Judi Plont, and Nicole C. Each of you won a day planner from Much Ado About you! Look for an email from me with details about your new planner.

I don't think I have to tell you how crazy I am about time management. With 3 little ones at home, a successful Scentsy Family business to run, Bible study to lead, leaders to invest in, a hubby to love well, words to write everyday....it can all becoming overwhelming if there isn't intention behind the time I spend.

The Lord has definitely blessed us with a successful business, but I think one of the things that has attributed to our success the most is my craziness about time management and goal setting.

We set the most goals when it's incentive time with the Scentsy Family. We have been so incredibly spoiled by Scentsy over the years when it comes to all the places they have taken us on thanks to some great trip incentives. We have been to Banff, Canada in June of 2009

on an Alaskan Cruise in September of 2009

To the big island of Hawaii in June of 2010

To Disney World with our family in June of 2011

To the Dominican Republic in June of 2012 (with my pregnant belly)

And then in 2013, we were given the choice of 6 locations! (Hawaii, Costa Rica, South Carolina, Whistler, BC; Washington, D.C.; or New York City) And we chose New York City.

The coolest part about all these trips are all the amazing people we get to travel with. Every year, we have more and more of our frontline team members earn these trips, and we think that's the best part!

Here are a few highlights from the first day of our NYC trip:

{Day 1 NYC}

I should disclaimer all this by letting you know that day 1 was my favorite day.

When we knew we were going to NYC, I emailed ABC's The Chew to get tickets to the show. It's on in the middle of the day, and Brian and I watch it (and record it) daily. It's a positive, upbeat show about eating well, living well, and doing well. I dig it. And we were so excited to watch a filming of the show.

A couple weeks before our trip, we received an email from The Chew that went to all audience members attending the filming the same day as us. They were looking for a couple who loved to grill for a battle of the sexes grilling show.

So I sent an email explaining how much we love to grill and how grilling is just part of the culture in Oklahoma.

That started a series of interviews with the producers of the show. We had to answer a series of questions via email, send about a million pictures of ourselves, our food, and then we started phone interviews. They told us they were interviewing a few couples, so we had to wait to see if we would actually be on the show or not.

We finally found out that we were on the show the Friday before we left for NYC. We would film the show the following Tuesday (our first full day in NYC).

We really didn't have much time to think about being on the show. I spent an afternoon raiding my sister's closet, and found something bright to wear that matched my Grace Adele jewelry.

Before I knew it, it was Monday, and we were headed to NYC.

This was our crew in the Oklahoma City airport before we boarded the plane.

Flying into NYC was beautiful. I've never seen anything like it.

Once we arrived in NYC, we got on a giant van headed to the Waldorf Astoria. It just so happens that President Obama was at the Waldorf on the same day that we were (apparently having a private dinner). As we approached the hotel, we could clearly hear drums. No, it was not a marching band, it was a riot geared towards the president.

Here are the protesters all sectioned off a few blocks from the hotel.

By the time we actually made it to our room, we were exhausted (after being stuck in the Chicago airport longer than we expected) and ready to call it a day.

Brian walked right outside the hotel and picked us up our first (of many) New York style pizzas. And it was delicious.

And on Tuesday morning, we woke up early to catch at cab to the ABC studios, and we found ourselves here:

It was so much fun! We got to watch them set up for the show. We met all the producers. We had to have a short rehearsal with all the cast members. We went to hair and make-up, and we were rehearsed multiple times with our favorite producer, Katie.

The show was amazing. It was so much fun to be apart of the whole thing. Turns out were nearly the entire show. 4 of the 6 segments feature the two of us. It was like a dream. And I can't wait to see it on the air. Our episode will air on Friday, June 28th at 12:00 CST on ABC (be sure to check your local listings, and set your DVR to check it out).

That's me with Daphne Oz one of the Chew's amazing co-hosts.
(and she's Dr. Oz's daughter and author of the book Relish

And here I am with Carla Hall. She was so incredibly welcoming and loving towards us. Really, they all were. Carla Hall was a finalist on Top Chef. You can check her out at www.carlahall.com.

And here is Brian with Iron Chef Michael Symon (who is hilarious!).

We didn't snag a picture with Mario Batali, but we had a ball with him as well. They were all so so nice to us. It was so much more than I expected it to be.

I was astounded at how hard they all work. Daphne had just gotten off a red eye from California right before we filmed the show. She was there promoting her new book (which she signed a copy of for me!) But in all seriousness, I know that being on TV and filming for 3 hours 3 days a week must seem easy, but they really all work hard at what they love, and it was inspiring to be around such wonderful people.

This is us in the cab after the filming....so excited about the week ahead in NYC!

And here is Brian and the awesome trophy one of us won. I'm not telling you who, but I will tell you that I grilled chicken and he grilled steak. Make your bets people.

We went back to the hotel to regroup and make a plan for the day, and then off we went exploring the city of NYC.

Our 1st stop was Times Square. We explored all over Times Square including Toys-R-Us which boasts a full size carousel inside and the Disney Store where we bought jammies for our kiddos.

And then we walked. And we walked a lot.

We ate lunch at Shake Shack which was amazing! I will definitely go back there whenever we're in NYC again. I loved everything about especially that delicious cheese sauce.

That night we met up with one of Brian's good friends who lives in NYC right now. Lee and his fiance, Des took us to their favorite local bar (The Back Room). And there really was a back room. You had to walk through a bookcase to get there! It was awesome.

It was an old speakeasy from the days of prohibition. Everything is served in tea cups there. We loved it and had the best conversation with old friends. Plus, it was my first ride on a subway which was interesting.

And in a nutshell, that sums up our 1st day in NYC. More to come soon.....

Oh and stay tuned for tomorrow's post. I have the most exciting news about The Sunday 7. I can't wait to share it with you!
