I have always agreed with that statement. But today, while I stood in a,room filled with our closest friends and family, "It takes a village" took on a new meaning. There are lots of people who look at us like we're crazy when we tell them we have two foster babies. They say things like "That's so great," or "I could never do that," or "Bless your heart," which translates into "You idiot." But, the people who showered gifts on all four of our babies today have never thought that. They have understood from the beginning. They know us well enough to know that we wouldn't do anything outside of what God has called us to do. And while everyone knew it would be hard, I don't think any of them knew how involved they would become. By bringing babies into our home, we're also bringing them into the hearts of the people we love. But they have never hesitated. Not one of them. They have loved these babies as their own from the beginning. There has never been a question about whether or not they are family. They were instantly family. And as I looked around that crowded birthday room at all the people who adore my children, I can't help but feel overwhelmed. Overwhelmed by gratitude, thanks, encouragement, and most of all, love. We never in a million years could have taken in Wade and Bailey without the incredible friends and family who have stood by our every decision. I just want to say thank you. You know who you are. So thank you. Thank you for never looking at us in judgment. Thank you for loving our babies. Thank you for taking care of our babies. Thank you for believing in us. You've never questioned us. You've just loved us. All six of us. And I just wanted to say thank you. It really does take a village. Thank you for being part of our village.
